My mother always had a prayer and a song. That is what helped her keep the faith during troubled times. I remember times where I was hurting and broken she would ask me to bow my head. Then I would hear, “Lord Jesus, please help Kathy. She needs you right now. Please be with her.”
Mom would pray regarding whatever was hurting me at the moment. Even over the phone mama would pray. Then, I would hear her say,  “Kathy, I heard a song today. Sing it with me.”  Something Beautiful  was one of those songs.
Mom died in 2006. However, when I hear this song I still cry and can hear her say, “Lord Jesus help Kathy through this.”
Something beautiful, something good
All my confusion He understood
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
But he made something beautiful of my
 life.

If there ever were dreams
That were lofty and noble
They were my dreams at the start
And hope for life’s best were the hopes
That I harbor down deep in my heart
But my dreams turned to ashes
And my castles all crumbled, my fortune turned to loss
So I wrapped it all in the rags of life

And laid it at the cross.
